Has Skales gone SOFT?

A few days ago, i reviewed Skales song titled KERESIMESI.  I was mad impressed with the verses he spat on the track. He has a second single out called ‘Mukulu’. My anaylsis for this… is i am used to putting Skales on the same pedastal as M.I and the likes of Naeto C  because of his rap delivery. This song sounds very ‘Naija-commerical’, i am not trying to knock his hustle. I understand a brother’s has got to eat (honestly i will dance to this song in the club).  Every hiphop head knows that fact. But i listened to the song and it got me thinking to myself, this has Wizkid written all over it. Even if you want to do a ‘Naija-commercial’ song, don’t try to sound like your colleague. Carve a niche for yourself. Anyways, the song is your typical boy needs girl type song.  The beats are catchy plus the hook is repeatable. It will definitely get played on radio stations and in the clubs.

The song has a video too, and basically i don’t think the video was all that.  I felt Clarence Peter could have done more. But on the flip side the model that was Skales love interest in the video was banging! Plus i noticed Wizkid was not in the video…. hmmmm.
