Snoop Dogg celebrates 19th wedding anniversary with throwback picture

Snoop Dogg has marked his 19th wedding anniversary by sharing an incredibly sweet throwback snap with his wife.

The rapper tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart Shante Broadus – who he started dating when they were teenagers – almost two decades ago and he still seems madly in love.

This week, the star and father-of-four described their relationship as “a1 from day 1” as he thanked his wife for the gift of their family together alongside a lovely picture of them together.

In what appears to be a prom photo, the happy couple are seen posing for a snap, with Snoop’s hand around his girl’s waist as she smiles for the camera.

The star – who also shared a romantic picture of their bed as they enjoy a romantic getaway – wrote: “19. Years today @bosslady_ent Happy anniversary been a1 from day 1… thanks for my kids (sic)”

Snoop – who renewed his wedding vows with Shante in January 2008 – also hinted he was going for a romantic getaway as he tagged his wife in a video to fans revealing that he’d be off the radar for a couple of days.

He said: “Yo, to all my peoples, all my supporters. Appreciate the love. My phone will be off for the next two days, so don’t call me, don’t text me, don’t look for me.

“I’m underground, doing what I’m supposed to be doing. Thank you, but no thank you. I’m gone. Don’t look for me, I’ll find you. Thank you.”

The couple married in 1997, and despite a brief split when Snoop filed for divorce in 2004, they have remained close ever since he “begged and pleaded” for her back.

He threw away the papers, and later told Larry King: “A whole lot of begging and pleading…it was up to me to try to put it back together, because I’m the one who said I didn’t want to be a part of it no more…It’s hard now to this day.”
